ARCHE 2011–2012 is the first volume of IN/FORM, a yearly collection of writing by students in the School of Critical Studies’ MA in Aesthetics and Politics Program at California Institute of the Arts. Cutting across literature, architecture, performance, and activism, ARCHE mobilizes the archive of the past, occupies the uncertain terrain of the present, and lays the foundation for new futures. The writing collected in ARCHE was produced for the program’s core courses in aesthetic and political thought, the thesis seminar, and the Spring 2012 aesthetics and politics lecture series.
