A very well written glimpse into the post-World War 1 south, as lived out by the Webbs of Atmore, Alabama. The letters, speeches and actions of Dr. A.P. Webb are testimony to a time when the country and families were struggling through difficult times, but families were strong, and did whatever it took to take care of their kin and anyone else who needed help. There was definitely a "grace" in the souls and spirit of folks during these times that is unfortunately not as prevalent today.

Being one of the "Webbs of Alabama", this book is a must in the family library. Not only is it informative and an easy read, it takes us back to a sweeter time when average Americans were made of a different fiber and possessed a great love of God, family and country.
