Margaret Taliaferro has been teaching children’s Bible classes for many years. In this book she portrays the “Easter story” in concise and simple terms. Although neither a theologian nor a professional artist, she has the ability to teach the deep truths of the gospel message at a child’s level of understanding. She is a strong believer in God and in God’s word. This book is the result of her concern that God’s word often goes unheeded, especially at Easter time.

"A Wonderful Telling on the Classic Easter Story for Children" The book presents the classic Easter story in an accessible for children and adults alike. Humor as her ally, Margaret Taliaferro raises questions for children such as "Why is there chocolate at Easter?" and "How did Mary feel when she went to Jesus' tomb?" Taliaferro answers these questions by appealing to a child's own everyday experiences. The handwriting and hand-drawn pictures add to the accessibility of the story and fill in gaps where words would only complicate a simple telling of the classic story. This book goes behind the scenes of the story told in church when discussing the emotions of Jesus, the disciples, and the women. Taliaferro spends more time on the details of the miracles in the story explaining their miraculousness instead of just stating that they are miraculous. The divisions in the book make it ideal for reading it over then entire Easter weekend instead of quickly... More > in one sitting. This helps with keeping a child's attention and showing the amounts of time between each event. A good read and ideal for children!< Less
