Aug 9, 2009"A review of Margo's book!" This is such a great book on so many levels! Even with no writing experience, by following Margo’s clear-cut outline, her suggested questions during the interview process as well as important tips along the way on how to bring the person "to life" on paper will result in a wonderful memoir about a special someone in your family. It will be a living legacy to be cherished now and in future generations! Also, I just love the concept of this book! Just the idea of writing a memoir about one of your relatives who is, most likely, not known on a national or global scale (otherwise a biography will have probably already been written!) is very unique, in and of itself. These days, I think we give way too much creedence to people just because they’re in the public eye. Her book serves as a terrific reminder that each of us has an interesting story to tell, and it has nothing to do with whether we’re famous or not! Without the guidance of “A Life... More > in 10 Chapters,” writing an actual book can seem overwhelming, especially if you've never done it before. However, in her book, Margo takes you by the hand and step-by-step shows you exactly what you need to do to write a fabulous biography about one of your loved ones, which you'll be so proud of for having done. It will also be such a delight for your family to read for years to come! In addition, you can use the guidelines in her book to write your own autobiography and/or to write about someone else that's not in the family. If you can't tell, I highly recommend this book!< Less

May 2, 2007"Book" What a fantastic book this is! I like how the author explains how to do your own biography in a way that is easy to understand to newbies like me! To me, it's not your typical step by step instruction manual that is just words and an outline. I liked the personal touch in that the suggestions and explanations are in a language that are easy to understand for those who just don't know where to start. It doesn't make you feel like it's something easier said than done. Writing a biography sounds so complicated, but this book puts it all together so nicely and easily. I was especially impressed with the way the author gave reasons why you make certain decisions, suggestions as to why you things this way and not that way. To me, her suggestions were as informative as how to write it and put it together. I would recommend this book to anyone who is contemplating doing a biography. It has definitely motivated me to do mine! The neatest thing about biographies is that each... More > person's story is different, which makes each book you write unique. The gift you give of putting it in words for loved ones to cherish is priceless, whether it's your own, or someone else's. This book makes that happen! Good job Margo! Kudos to you for writing this book!< Less
Dec 31, 1969"A Life In Ten Chapters" EXCELLENT! This book takes what could otherwise be a complex process and guides the reader step by step through the ins and outs of putting together an interesting family biography. Provides suggested resources and lines of inquiry that I would have thought of, before reading this book. Now, I can't wait to start digging out all those old family photos--can't wait to start on my own project! Kudos to this author for a well-researched, easy-to-follow guide book that ordinary people like me can use to immortalize our own loved ones.
