This book lists all the men from Davie County, NC, who have died in wars. The names are on the Veterans' Memorial in Mocksville. There are biographies for the men who died in WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Beirut Bombing who were from Davie County. There is a chapter which describes the fund raising and building of the monument and the dedication in 1987. A 32 minute talk by Colonel Thomas Ferebee, bombardier of the Enola Gay, is transcribed and included. Photographs of men and their grave sites and family stories are included. This book won a state award from North Carolina Society of Historians.
