Quantum Impurities in Strongly Correlated Electron Systems
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Ph.D. Thesis, University of Karlsruhe (TH), Germany, 2005: In this work we have discussed different aspects of quantum impurity effects in strongly correlated electron systems. We have focused on the Bose-Fermi Kondo model and applied this model to study properties of Kondo-like impurity moments in high-Tc cuprate superconductors. We have also investigated the effect of non-magnetic impurities on antiferromagnetic order in lightly doped cuprates. Both applications to cuprates are examples of impurity-induced phenomena in the strongly correlated materials.
