Thirty seven years after the military coup of 11 September 1973 the burials of four members of the GAP (security apparatus of President Allende) took place. Oscar Luis Avilés Cofré, Luis Rodríguez Riquelme, Jaime Gilson Sotelo Ojeda and Manuel Castro Zamorano had been arrested at La Moneda Presidential Palace on the afternoon of the military coup, tortured for two days at the Santiago Tacna Army Regiment and later killed at the Army’s property of Fuerte Arteaga on Thursday 13th September 1973. Their remains were finally given to their relatives by the Servicio Médico Legal on Friday 24th September 2010. They were buried on the following day together with the human remains of two of Allende’s advisors: Enrique Paris Roa and Héctor Pincheira Núñez. This work outlines their life, death and burial and contributes to the historiography of Chile.
