"French Children Don't Get Fat" Where was this book when my children were young? Not only would it have saved me from the mistakes I made in terms of what they wanted or didn't want to eat, but it would also have made for a wonderful family-time bonding experience. The advice is sound, too, especially with what we know about good nutrition these days. Not all the activities will appeal to every child or parent, but there's a great variety, so you can pick and choose. As with everything else, if you teach your children at a young age, they'll get into the right habits. We have a lot of trouble with obesity in our country, and this could really help to set up lifelong habits of good eating. The other thing I really like was the idea of enjoying your food -none of the usual rushing to gobble the food without even tasting it. That's when we overeat. I'd give this book the highest rating.

"No-diet way to keep your kids healthy and slim" Educating your kids to appreciate and enjoy real food, not McDonalds junk, makes them much less likely to develop bad eating habits. There's a lot of good info about that here, and the recipes I've tried have turned out very well. I like that the book gives activities that don't take a lot of time. When kids can participate in preparing the food, they're more likely to eat food that they wouldn't necessarily want to try otherwise. With this book, you can do at home what the French have classes to do.
