The Human Engine is a collection of early works by American language poet, Marisa Prietto. Written during the final year of her studies at UC Berkeley, The Human Engine is a study in personal interiority, and the delicate frictions of the relationship between self and other. Prietto blends high diction with common vernacular to create a space that is at once familiar and esoteric, immediate and remote. We certainly look forward to more works by this flip and interesting young author, particularly a book of prose, currently in the making.
