During a routine file conversion job, a hologram of beautiful, charismatic Dr. Isabella Castillo captures the attention of Benjamin O’Rourke, data-tier specialist for the Committee for Off-World Settlement (COS). Originally established to help the Committee gain a foothold in the uncharted quadrant, the Eilithian colony Isabella and her team founded ceased transmissions – leading COS to classify it as defunct. But the shadowy O’Rourke discovers the colonists have doctored their data files. This, he calculates, will be of very special interest to mega-corporation Nova, which has formally announced the development of a technology predicted to revolutionize space travel, opening up trade and exploitation of other world resources.

Love this book, and so do my friends. That's why I'm here to get additional copies. They kept borrowing mine to the point where I ended up Eilithia-less. I loved the character in this novel named O'Rourke. He is your typical good, bad guy. His main fault is his inability to follow the rules, but that is exactly what ends up endearing this character to the reader. We can relate to his war against authority. He is the space tech that rides his skateboard all across the galaxy in his quest for survival, thumbing his nose at those in-charge. I also loved when his world collides with that of a civilization on a little known planet where the inhabitants are not all that different from Earth's inhabitants. I think this is a great little book.
