I have had this book for over 6 month now, and judging by how dog-eared it has become it is time to write a review. Drs. Owens and Studin have put together a reference manual that makes my life easier. When I need the scientific research to back up a diagnosis or a treatment plan, or if I am asked for more information from an insurer, attorney, colleague, or referring physician – The Science of Chiropractic: Circa 2015 is my first stop. In the past I would Google the research – but then I would have to decipher what it meant – luckily Drs. Owens and Studin have already done the hard work taking the research and putting it into a practical relevant form for a treating doctor. Regardless of the topic or concern I have, the answers are covered in this book. If you are a busy chiropractor, The Science of Chiropractic: Circa 2015 by Drs. Owens and Studin should be on your desk – work smarter not harder.

I purchased "The Science of Chiropractic Circa 2015" two weeks ago and have been enjoying the depth and breadth of the chiropractic research. I would recommend all chiropractic doctors review it and feel it would benefit all chiropractic colleges to add this seminal work to their core curriculum for their first term. I am starting my 36th year in the chiropractic profession as an instructor and full time practitioner with an avid interest in chiropractic research. Nowhere have I found one source so richly supporting the chiropractic profession with peer reviewed articles. In my opinion, this book should be at the top of the list for purchasing and reading.

This book is the cumulation of 10 years of medically indexed research proving the effects of the chiropractic adjustment and the benefits of patients being managed by doctors of chiropractic. It has been over 100 years since a work like this has been published. If you are interested in the evidence this is a must read.

This book was modeled after the concept of the original in 1906, written by DD and BJ Palmer, where the object was to assist placing chiropractic on a firmly scientific basis. This book is a compilation of reviews of indexed, peer reviewed scientific articles that have been published and offers the facts vs. rhetoric or theory. The goal of this book is to make a better informed society to help all that could benefit from chiropractic.
