This book documents the history and genealogy of German immigrants John Lawrence Hester and Godfrey Stough, and their descendants, from 1752 to 1908. Upon landing in America, the new immigrants were immediately sold into indentured servitude and forced to work for many years with no pay under hard and cruel conditions. Their hard working descendants spread throughout the American continent, helping to settle the land, fighting in every war, and serving as leaders at every level of society. Written in 1905 by Martin Mason Hester of Norwalk, Ohio, the book has over eight hundred names, numbered in regular order, and alphabetically indexed, with five-generation ancestor trees. This e-book "reprint" was created by an 8th generation descendant of John L. Hester from zeroxed copies of the original book, so that all Hester and Stough descendants may have access to this part of their family history. 381 pages.
