Baskets of Tomorrow is an intimate journey into the rural world. We catch glimpses of country life where no chore on the farm is unimportant or ever overlooked as seen in the first poem, Harvest Time. The poem Sudden Chill, based upon a painting, also reminds the reader that farm work is difficult but necessary for survival. "She did not understand his silence. When a farmer stops working, nothing gets done. He did not have time. The cows were lowing." There are also glimpes into the beauty of nature, musings of love, and relationships. I would highly recommend this exceptional chapbook written with heart and gentle reflection.
