McQuillan-McCarthy From Ireland To America

The McQuillan Family left Ardee, County Louth, Ireland and came to Oak Creek, Racine County, Wisconsin in 1846. Eventually there were the families of Bernard (Bryon) and Mary (Brennan) McQuillan and his widowed sister-in-law, Mary (McCormack) McQuillan, and a nephew, Patrick Durnin. About the same time James and Patrick McCarthy immigrated to Racine County, Wisconsin. James married Anastasia McQuillan and their daughter, Anastasia McCarthy married William Patrick Reilly I and the rest is history. Patrick's son, James Edmund McCarty, married Owen McQuillan's granddaughter, Jane Heaney.
