"Creating Love" is the first personal retreat I've tried and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for time to shift gears. For the better part of 10 years, I studied to be a Monk; my retreats were for days and weeks of contemplative solitude. You don't need an Abbey to understand what you value, and would like to attract in life; this book is for those of us who have the world as our Cloister. I did the retreat during a road trip to Georgia; "Creating Love" was a rich backdrop to me retracing family roots in Atlanta, Macon, and Savannah. I started each morning with the reading and going back to the questions for reflection throughout the day – by the end of the retreat, there was a subtle clarity and mindfulness that I had before only known from time in solitude. Because the Readings and Reflections can be revisited, and are each focused on a specific aspect of what you value in life (Do you value anything at all?), there is the intensity that makes them... More > useful when you have 10-20 minutes for personal reflection (or hours of winding backroads through deep Georgia). In short – come and see. Knowledgeable practitioners, Experienced contemplatives, and Type A extroverts who've shied from quiet solitude will each find this retreat a perfect chance stop and reflect.< Less
