In early 2015, I had the opportunity to bring my approach to the Cranbrook-Kingswood Boy’s Varsity Hockey Team. They were talented but struggling and did not play like a cohesive unit. We ignited and harvested their competitive spirit, while at the same time, built a trust bank to deepen their commitment and connection to one another. They became unstoppable because they felt unstoppable. This story, chock full of leadership lessons, serves as a model for leading, accelerating, and fully harnessing the talent on a team. What does a former NFL player say about this book? "History is littered with gifted individuals and teams that failed to reach their full potential. You must invest in a player's strengths and the strengths of the collective to build a championship team. This book will teach you to discover the untapped talent on your team, and harness it to reach your Destination Unstoppable" – Ryan Diem, Super Bowl XLI Champion, Indianapolis Colts '01-'11

Jul 13, 2016Outstanding book chock full of great insights and ideas.....having worked for both large and small organizations where we have analyzed strengths and used them to build high performance teams these concepts have universal appeal!
Jul 11, 2016A great and inspiring read! I was applauding the Cranbrook Hockey team from the first page to the last. Maureen and Coach Weidenbach develop a plan that enables the team to utilize their key strengths. These young men apply these strengths to build a championship team and develop assets that will help them throughout life. This book provides great information for any business or sports team striving to meet a goal.
Jun 29, 2016A really compelling description of a different way to understand and leverage a team all set in the context of two stories that reinforce the methods of this strength-driven process. The lead story is the celebration of the young hockey team that accomplishes what many businesses cannot: they accept the vulnerability of shared self assessment, commit to a shared goal, learn how to maximize their collective (now understood) strengths, and then go do it. They trust their coach, their facilitator, and, most importantly, each other. The back story is a little darker, but no less real: how the author overcomes a business environment less aligned with this process, but ultimately reinvents herself fully aligned with her own strengths into an environment of doing what she does best: helping others understand themselves and their environments in the context of strengths, skills, and values, and then helps people to optimize their own satisfaction and effectiveness. I am a veteran of decades... More > of business/personality assessment tools, but this is different and I like it a lot.< Less
Jun 29, 2016In a world fixated on shortcomings…identifying square pegs and trying to figure out how to re-shape them to fit into round holes, this book illustrates what can happen when natural talents are identified and maximized instead. Both a personal and professional journey, it resonates on many levels and reminds us that everyone has something to contribute. There is so much to learn from this upbeat, constructive approach to human interaction and team building. If you value human relationships of any kind, you will love this book!
Jun 28, 2016I don't give 5 stars easily! Ms. Monte must be related to Malcolm Gladwell. This is a powerful book for anyone who seeks to understand and better themselves and the "team" they work with! A "team" of friends, colleagues, family members or just a group of neighbors. This is truly a short cut for understanding and VALUING those around you! DESTINATION UNSTOPPABLE gives the reader a true competitive edge on valuing each person as an individual so their talents can be utilized productively in a group. This is more than just a sports story, it's a treasure map of harnessing each person's strengths. A compelling and engaging MUST read!
