Pastor Riegler's book is a very humorous way of showing us why we (the congregants) are our church's worst detriment to doing God's work. His book was the catalyst of discussions in our own UCC church. Pastor Mike Riegler was invited to speak and did a great job! A fun easy read with great impact!

Loved this book! It's funny, thought-provoking, and emotional. Made me laugh, brought tears to my eyes, and even made me really take a look at things within myself. I couldn't put it down. It's definitely a must read for everyone!

From the very first chapter, A Dragon in the Church will hook you in! This book had me laughing out loud, crying, even gasping at ridiculous behaviors! Every church family is full of relationships, and this story masterfully weaves them into the fabric of Pastor Nathan's church and life! Honesty, hurt, love, joy, politics, it's all here! Well done!

A good read with great life lessons for people of ALL religions or NO religion. Thought provoking that demands the reader examine their own relationship with humanity and the Lord. With humor in just the right places, a brilliant command of dialogue, and natural insight of "human nature", this book is a must read.

This is a great first book from Pastor Riegler. As a fellow pastor (and author), I can appreciate the voices in the story. The church is made up of human beings with all our good points and idiosyncrasies. A pastor's job is often a balancing act in a host of ways. But this book isn't just for pastors, it'll also pique the interest of parishioners of whatever church (not just Methodist). The church in this story is Peyton Place on steroids. Hopefully the readers' church isn't undergoing the exact challenges. Nevertheless there are things to relate to for members of any church (or work, or school, or wherever you find people!). As for the casual reader, it's a real page-turner that will at times pull at your emotions (all of them!). I definitely recommend the book as a great read!
