It was found to be an easy read that immediately thrust my mind into the present day life of an older couple who had found new life and meaning to their mutual existence. Questions abound as I moved from the Prologue into the story.I was anxious to hear and see more of the outcomes. A descriptive read allowed me to share the experiences of a life spent in the Canada’s dense bush during its early exploration. Allen wisely uses this as a backdrop rather than writing another history book. The writer concentrates on the man and those that become parts of his daily existence over his many lifetimes. Emotions followed a continual journey from depression through to everlasting declarations of love. The fast pace of the book kept me reading ahead to discover the next obstacle to overcome as Vance attempted to leave the legacy of the rapist behind and embrace his own humanity. A good read that... More > displayed an unexpected sensitivity to the needs and emotional development of women in general. If I dare say, - from a male writer. Bravo looking for more.” Suzanne M Hurley, Canadian Author.
