I enjoy books about aviation, it is an amazing field. I would have enjoyed the book more if it were less of a personal travel log, and a lot more of the retro stories of how he stowed away. Actually, I would have like the whole book on that subject. It is well written, and he writes professionally. He was very successful in recreating his "moment" for me. I love the entire concept of "the beauty of flight". He seems to write from his heart.

By Shelley Korman I read this book straight thru (4 hrs). I havn't done that very often. I am an aviation fan, so it was easy for me to like this. But I admit, the stories told in flashback, are fantastic at times. I often struggled to believe them. But the author does mention involving parents and police, so I have to believe there's proof. Aside from that small barrier, he drinks a lot of Bloody Marys, and he's a damn good story teller. This is a man with heart and vision. I enjoyed getting lost in his descriptions of how flight, transforms him to another place. He writes very well, and his sharp humor and wit, quickly became my favorite part of his style. I look forward to more works from Michael, and having my very own "AI" moments.

I was a stewardess from 1967 through 1989, and I was a big part of the golden age of travel that he writes about. I also know first hand, that he was not unique-(sorry, Michael). I had two brothers on my flight in 1970 who actually took the tickets from unsuspecting passengers, and managed passed the gate agent and onto the plane- it happened more than most will ever know. I enjoyed the book as a whole. There were some parts that moved slowly for me, but he writes from the soul at times, creating a vision that cannot be ignored- that is his saving grace. I very much enjoyed his flashback stories- he captures a moment like Kodak!!

I downloaded this book, but I think this one's a keeper- I'll have to purchase a hard copy. Let me start by saying, that if all of these things are true, his parents must have been saints. I flew quite a bit during the era he writes of and he is on target. I enjoy the mix use of style. He can quickly shift from a technologically-descriptive event, to a heartfelt, soulful look at the world. Michael writes with the style of a seasoned writer, but to my dismay, I find no other works by him. I hope to find new titles upon future visits- write, Michael- by all means, write.
