Haunted by sinister and brutal nightmares, Joe Ederer, an American in London, recalls his voracious sexual past. Passing between fashionable London's most glamorous places and the villains on the outskirts, reality starts to mirror his dreams. As a result, Joe is thrust into a twilight existence where only the fastest thinking will survive. A dark and graphic, yet tasteful, erotic thriller, which follows Joe's thoughts and deeds in excruciating detail. An enjoyable bagatelle that twists and turns as 'jive-talking' Joe fights for survival in the dark recesses of London's seamy underbelly.

I understand you want to show the world that the narrator inhabits, but it is not necessary to describe, for example, every route and journey that he takes, or the details of a pub landlord’s pumps and lines (page 26), or the whys and wherefores of what kind of coffee he likes to drink (page 143), the details of his domestic life in New York) or the parking arrangements on any given street, to name but a few examples. If description isn’t pertinent to plot, atmosphere or character, it shouldn’t really be there, and on no account should it be boring!. What is Ricky with him for? He implies she just wants him to provide restaurant meals and cigarettes but his income hardly makes him a gravy train, so does she in fact have genuine feelings for him? Then there are other characters who appear – and each time I hoped they were going to be the start of an ongoing plot layer – but the narrator merely has an incidental interaction with them before they recede again, having made no real... More > contribution to the overall story. Tim is an example of this, along with other passengers he speaks to in the limo and Dodgy Dave. Indeed, apart from his sexual encounters, the narrator comes across as quite an isolated individual who spends more time in his own inner world than the outer one.< Less
