The Undisciple

Jiddu Krishnamurti was an Indian speaker and writer on philosophical and spiritual subjects, and was widely considered as a World Teacher. I was around Krishnamurti for the last ten years of his life. I attended Brockwood, his novel school in England, watched him speak in India and Switzerland, and worked center camera with filmmaker Michael Mendizza for the last eight Ojai talks. We videotaped all of the dialogues at Krishnamurti’s home, Pine Cottage. I also scored the music for many films and videos about him. People often ask me what it was like to meet him or to attend his school. I immediately recall warmth in my heart as one word enters my mind... kindness. I have rarely felt such kindness before or since. I was welcomed in as a total stranger and treated better in some ways than by my own family. Dorothy Simmons, the principal of Brockwood, had a lot to do with this. She set the tone and did a wonderful job.
