"Magister Michael Rose has always been an inspiration, a role model, and one of the most powerful voices of Satanism for nearly two decades. I am extremely pleased to see his collected writings finally available to the general public. This volume is an essential addition to the Satanic canon and is a must-read for anyone seriously interested in Satanism and the Church of Satan. Open this book, open your eyes, and let the shackles of ignorance fall from your mind." Magister James D. Sass Author of Essays in Satanism "At first glance you might think the essays and articles you are about to read are just a trip down memory lane. Far from that, they are gemstones of the day, full of luster, subjects that still hold sway to this day, and give you an insight into the mind of not only a Satanist, but a high ranking member of the Priesthood of Mendes. Sharp and direct, with a no prisoners taken approach.” Magister George Sprague

Sep 20, 2012I have found this book to contain excellent information for anyone learning about Satanism. I also feel this is a good primer for new CoS members who have a lot of questions about Satanic philosophy. I realize the Satanic Bible and Anton Szandor LaVey's writing are a good source for this yet it is very nice to read other thoughts and perspectives from the Church of Satan hierarchy. As for me, this book has helped me see the overall "big picture" of Satanic philosophy with more clarity. I feel the book is easy to read and I had no issues with the grammar or punctuation. I was more interested in the content. I think this is an excellent primer for new members of the CoS and even older members. As a "Registered Member", I highly recommend this book to everyone and appreciate Mister Rose's contribution. Enjoy! HS!
Oct 15, 2009"Sapient Satanism" "Infernalia" is indeed the first satanic work I've read whose author does not come off like some pretentious, self-aggrandizing jerk. This is saying a lot. I've read the works of other Magisters of the Church of Satan whose orate and pompous narrative left me feeling bitch-slapped every time I completed reading a chapter. Quite to the contrary was my experience reading Magister Rose's "Infernalia" - I never once sensed a need on his part to 'farce' his work as a medium to expose an insecure and over bloated ego. As a result, I feel more educated, not deprecated - as how it ought to be. The chapter entitled, "A Better Place" was particularly intriguing as it expounds on an ideal of class, government, and rule that is still ahead of our time. If your sensibilities are of the touchy-feely, self-deluding, egalitarian nature, then "A Better Place" will singe your frail constitution and most likely leave you in a catatonic... More > stupor. The one bone I have to pick with this publication is that scattered throughout the pages are grammatical and punctuational errors and verb-tense disagreements - and far too many for a work of 155 pages. Indeed, I found this particular fate offensive and insulting. I put forth the $35+ to have this book. For an author to not take the care to see to it that his work is not as grammatically impeccable as he knows how to make it is decidedly disrespectful to all potential buyers. In addition, it's just a terrible distraction to wade through such grammatical debris. I for one remain incredulous. However, if you're a fan of satanic writing as I am, and can overlook the ungrammatical trespasses, I heartily recommend this book as a manual to life and living in this abhorrent and hypocritical world. For the Satanic student who understands the importance of study, this is a worthy tome. Thank you, Magister Rose. VCNovakov< Less
