I admit this was a spur of the moment addition to another purchase, but was intrigued by the ideas presented here, and even happier with the printed copy finally in my hands. WR&M gives an inventive way of looking at creating Fantasy RPG Characters, and has a light rules system, with plenty of room to be tweaked to your group's needs, that's also quick to learn and teach others. Options are given for playing games without Magic, with the usual Fantasy Races found in most other games, and presented in a way that makes sense. Character growth is not based on levels, but more on how much the Game Master (GM) deems you've achieved in game, and whether your accomplishments warrant advancement. The choices allowed give you room to modify your character depending on how you see them progressing, not just level based abilities given out to everyone at level "x". If you want to gain new skills or talents, become a hit point tank, or a weak but nasty spellcaster, the choice is... More > yours. You could also just as easily be a Mage who wears armor and can handle a blade just as well as the average fighter. The author gives a small section devoted to the game's specific setting, but it's just enough to get you started, and let you build a sandbox world and campaign, without being railroaded into anything. You have a good place to start, but the world truly is yours to develop once you've got the players invested in their characters, and that's never a bad thing. Plus, a mini Bestiary is given for some of the more common foes your PCs will face, all statted out and ready to rumble. All in all, I'm happy with this spur of the moment buy. Granted there are a few typos here and there, but overall the product looks great, and was laid out well, and should be getting put through its paces at the game table soon. I will definitely be happy to see if Mr. Wolf releases any more additions for this game.< Less
