MANOLO. A CHILD IN THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR is a unique example of the reality and fatal consequences of a civil war. This narration is unique and true to life as events are seen through the eyes of a child who between his seven to ten yeas of age lived in Madrid. Manolo speaks to the readers through the pages of this memoir, bringing to their notice, facts that many have decided to confine to silence or to distort in favour of their own ideas. The writer does not mince words to describe soul wrenching episodes exposing reality in the raw. The style is simple , so that what is written can be understood clearly, not allowing the possibility for doubt. The text is peppered with a mixture of joy and sadness. and the three years of hell that enveloped Manolo's childhood, are related with pace and an immense sense of detail. In MANOLO. A CHILD IN THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR there is invaluable material for a film.
