This is the second movement of my symphonic orchestral work Praha. It takes as its inspiration the lives of the three famous kings of Prague (at least they figure on the Charles Bridge.)
Wenceslas is well known and I chose to make some use of Good King Wenceslas within the texture of my music.
Vitus is also well known as his dance is a cure for Tarantula bites, or a condition of restless fidgeting. I gave him a capering ungainly melody which is interspersed with references to the great river Vltava.
Sigismund/Adalbert reunited Prague and the Czechs at a time of great unrest, though some think he doesn't deserve either his statue or his stature! His music is grand and imposing as regal music ought to be.
