In Mexican tradition it is customary for children to help their mothers prepare meals in the kitchen. This is a way to pass on traditions from one generation to another. I really liked this book. It was written in a personal way with touching stories of how one of the authors grew up and learned lessons from her mom and family. The message of the book is about family and how the kitchen and cooking is an important part of La Familia- really in any culture. Perhaps the best part is the recipes are authentic Mexican cuisine and they are simple, easy to follow, and they are delicious. A great feel good book for anyone who wants to add to their cook book collections or wants to give as a gift.
