Aine and Evin live as normal a life as any blue or green eyed person could in their matriarchal town where discrimination is based on eye color. But in their early twenties secrets about their birth and family are revealed, turning their world up-side down and making them face the unfairness in their town that they had fought to avoid for so long.

"Subtle Differences - " This remarkably well written first novel presents a chilling view of the near future. Despite the chilly view of the future, the reader is ultimately warmed by the character development and family ties which prevail despite the odds and social climate of the time.
