"Structure's important in times of change." Wisdom from a barista served up with a last cup of coffee before Missy Durant walked out the door of her corporate life. No one could have predicted that a commitment to structure in a time of change would lead her to write letters to everyone she could think of who impacted her life and help shape who she is today. Those letters changed her life, changed her perspective on life, ignited a zeal for the things that matter most in life and began a revolution of gratitude.

What Matters is the inspiring story of Missy Durant's journey of writing 50 letters in 50 days to people who have made a difference in her life. The book is as powerful as it is brief. You will devour in one sitting, and then think about for weeks on end. Take note - that she has not written letters to her first car, her bank account, or that dream house on the beach. As it turns out - people matter most. You will begin to recognize the people who have touched your own life, and you will find yourself thinking about gratitude in a whole new way.
I sat down to read a few chapters before bed and did not stop until the end. Missy's willingness to share ALL of herself in moments that matter leads to reflection of your own humanity. Her passion rekindled my belief we can make a difference just one person at a time. It is a touching real-life story of hope, so fitting in the context of our current social and economic challenges. Great book for a wide range of readers!
Wonderfully written, not only does Missy Durant take you on the journey with her as she discovers what matters; she had a way of pulling you in and have you reflect on your life as you read. Her story and your story interweave; and you become inspired to truly believe gratitude IS a verb and requires action. Missy's message and 'voice' in the book feels like you are having a real conversation with a friend. Great Holiday Gift Idea: I'm planning on giving the book (along with some nice stationary) to family for the holidays.
