    This book has been carefully designed and prepared, with excellent photography and entertaining text. When it comes to preparing venison for the table, the authors are obviously passionate and knowledgeable, and for someone like me who so enjoys deer hunting and its finest reward -- fresh venison -- it is a pleasure to peruse this book. But I am afraid that, for its price, "60-Minute Venison" falls short of its objective. The instructional images are too small, and there are too few illustrations of the actual butchering process. This is fine for those of us with experience, but the book claims to be oriented to the first-time deer processor, and as such it should offer more details. There are also a number of grammatical and typographical errors, which undermine the otherwise polished and professional presentation. Some of the recipes could be clarified, too: In one case, an amount of venison is specified in the ingredient list, but there are no other specifications offered... More > -- Ground venison? Chunks? Again, if you know how to cook you can infer what is needed, but when you're paying $25 + S&H for 68 pages, you should not have to infer anything.< Less

    Hunter girls and and guys do your self and a friend a favor. Get a couple copies this book! I'm the only deer hunter in the family and butchering has always been an unpleasant lengthy ordeal. This fall while facing the deer this incredible book became my personal instructor. The clear directions and spot on photos really, helped streamline the harvest of the delicious venison meat. Thank you Mitch and Steve for 60-MINUTE VENISON.Simply a Great resource! P.S. When you are not using book while butchering put it in your kitchen. The recipies (including photos) are off the chart good!

    I received my copy today and was really impressed! I have only hunted birds and wanted step-by-step instructions to properly dress out a deer. This is an amazingly illustrated and detailed book of technique with everything you need to know about tools and packaging too. The recipes are enticing this gourmet enthuesiest to be excited to go hunting!
