The Veil & Polygamy, In Islam

ByMohammad Shafi

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The Islamic code for feminine dress, in public, is governed by the need to be sober and sexually not provocative. In Islam, sex is a private affair between a man and his wife, and not for public display. The dress code as prescribed in the Qur'aan, however, does not require the face to be covered. Covering the face is a man-imposed requirement, and not divine. And, contrary to popular belief, polygamy is not the norm in Islam! Monogamy is the norm. Polygamay is permitted only in exceptional circumstances.
