This book is a wonderful read, composed of short meditations that sparkle with wit and wonder. Molly's observations are entertaining and poignant; she laughs at herself often, revealing her moments of anxiety to be some of the richest of her experience. "We get everywhere early, arriving for six o'clock mass before the four o'clock has been let out. We drive around the block for fifteen minutes, four of us wedged in the back seat. Brian's sister-in-law jokes that instead of shaking hands at peace-be-with-you time we should hip bump people, and I take it a step too far, saying we should just make out with everyone. His father shows us where the ice has frozen on the trees." She makes incisive examinations of the many confluences in her life: art and spirituality, finding yourself while being yourself, learning to embrace the present moment while also learning to release it. I loved the fearless vulnerability of this book, which feels generous and open even while succinct.
