AIDS: Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is the last stage of the HIV. It has strong effect on the immune system and nervous system, leading to the weakening of the two. As HIV attacks the immune system, other illnesses begin to develop and AIDS is diagnosed when a person has developed at least one of the several diseases associated with the virus. These diseases vary from dementia to sarcoma; a form of skin cancer, a major difference between HIV and AIDS. Ultimately, a diagnosis is not made until the virus has already progressed to AIDS due to the absence of physical symptoms with HIV. However, the development and progression of the virus into AIDS amplifies in third-world countries, like Zimbabwe with famine, poor health care, low education, making the immune system more vulnerable.
