"Very good" Instantly one of my favorite books. i usually read fiction books but occassionally i dabble into non-fiction when the topic is interesting enough. this is one of those times. i enjoy the flow of the book. it never swerved off course and made alot of sense. I felt as if the writer was dictating and someone else was writing. i guess i mean it was more conversational so i did feel a connection to his personal story. i was never a member but knew a couple people in the past and had visited before so i was familiar with a lot of things. he did a great job tying up the loose ends. I would like to also say that it's not just a book about the icoc. it is about his life and it was clear to me that he has been wrestling with God long before. his experiences with the icoc is part of the book but it's not the only thing. so i can say i was also drawn by his experiences with religion in general. I appreciate how he allowed his life to be exposed. in the last page of the book... More > it says there will be a part 2 so i do look forward to it and will buy it. overall i think he accomplished his purpose writing this book. it was tastefully done. very balanced. articulated well. i think many people will enjoy it.< Less

"Good job" I think your book gives an accurate but not too controversial look at the lifestyle of a disciple in the church. It was a very easy read and I like the fact that you added a glossary to get non-members accustomed to the language. Your experiences was typical and you referenced how some people have experienced worst or better treatment but I think readers unfamiliar with the church will get a clear glimpse into the everyday nightmare we lived. While a good chunk is about the church I appreciate you opening up your life for the entire world to analyze. It gave the Icoc church experience a personal element compared to other Icoc informative books or articles. If this is your first effort in writing I think it's a good one and you should be proud. All books have some negatives to it and please accept this as only constructive criticism. There is more than a fair share of fragments that could have been easily merged into sentences. Whoever did the editing should have... More > advised on those changes. Also there were a handful of grammatical errors: semicolons where there should be colons, etc. these were very few and probably not noticeable to someone who doesn't read manuscripts all the time. I understand that you have two more projects in the works, but I wonder if the customer could have been better served if more content was added to this edition. Eighty pages for an average reader could be read in a couple days. There are meaty portions that could have been complemented with more information. With that said, I am a fan. I look forward to your next release. I think this book has a good re-read value. I wish you the best of luck. Keep up the good work and keep doing what your heart is telling you to do. I give it a B grade< Less
