Myra Johnson was educated at Tallassee High School and Auburn University Montgomery. Her career in office administration spanned over half a century in the fields of Landscape Architecture, City Planning, Urban Renewal, Architecture and International Construction.
A love of history and writing allowed her to have published articles in several local magazines. She is a founding member of Talisi Historical Preservation Society where she served as historian, grants director and curator of the local museum. She is a founder of Alabama River Region Arts Center. She served as a member and officer of United Daughters of Confederacy, Camp Watts Society, Friends of Tuckabatchee, THS Alumni Association, and Mt. Vernon Theater Group, among numerous other volunteer efforts.
