"A Brilliant Story" The Story starts from the wedding of out two favourite couples and continues through their married life. I loved reading about Darcy and Elizabeth's honeymoon it and found the story enjoyable I could hardly put the book down till the last page. I am so glad she wrote a sequel.
"Hard to put down" A Woman Worthy was an exciting continuation in the life of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. Mackey not only took us deeper into the private lives of the main characters, she interspersed this love story with danger, intrigue, and heartache. It is difficult to believe Jane Austen could have written a more compelling sequel.
"A Fast Read" Captivating-Once one begins, one cannot stop! Ms. Mackey brings to life believable characters from a period which is hard to relate to today. True to the writing style of Jane Austin, one feels like a member of the Darcy social circle. A great sequel.
"A Woman Worthy" I didn't find this book as "worthy" as it promised to be. It was a frustrating read because there were too many plot lines going in different directions and none of them were truly explored, making the entire book incohesive. For a 500+ page book it was a daunting task to get to the end of it. One of the drawbacks of self publishing is that a good editor isn't always consulted and it can lead to this type of incohesiveness. I also didn't like how Darcy was written. The point of Austen's Pride and Prejudice was that love changed Darcy and made him a better man. However, in this book, Darcy makes the same mistakes over and over again and you don't really feel he and Lizzy have a good marriage or even have many happy moments. Lizzy was also written as very immature and not quite the Mistress of Pemberly we hoped she would be. Overall, it wasn't a bad read. However, for the price, I expected more. If you are looking for good story lines and the... More > characters of Lizzy and Darcy written well, I suggest any of the Abigail Reynolds books. Her story lines are very interesting and keep the reader captivated.< Less
