Shanachie’s On- & Offshore Recipes is the book form of a lifelong collection of "index-card" recipes that have succeeded during more than ten years of sailing offshore, and living onshore in a variety of environments and countries. Divided into twenty-two chapters ranging from Appetizers to Vegetables, the recipes have fit two basic criteria: use simple ingredients that could be found anywhere, even the most remote island stores, and, the result must taste good!
This is not a "real" cookbook including methods or procedures, but simply a compilation of over 600 recipes collected (then tested and edited) from many worldwide sources. A Handy Equivalents page is included for easy conversions of the recipes left in their “native” state.
