Elephant's Dilemma of Difference promotes the positive message that everyone is different, inside and out, in a simple yet clear story. It is a good length for a preschooler's attention span, and the cute cartoon drawings capture the attention of the audience and stimulate questions and comments. My four-year-old has requested this book numerous times and will also sit and look at the pictures on her own. The suggested discussion questions at the end of the book guide parents/caregivers in talking to their children about the important topics of health, positive body image and diversity.

This is a great book for the preschool child explaining differences in the bodies and looks of the characters. Whilst the book deals with body images the concepts could equally apply to any other differences in children eg culture, disabilities etc. Thoughout the book there are great cartoon drawings of the book characters.
