"The Olney Hymns" I have never liked reading Hymns, its poetry which I also don't relish reading but after seeing Amazing Grace the William Wilberforce "Biography" and then Bull's book, The Life of John Newton, it was actually enjoyable. The life that Newton lived before denouncing slavery and writing Christian Hymns made me approach the poems with a different mindset and I came at it with an open mind and found the meaning of the themes and the words to touch me deeper then if I had not known what he had done for a living. If you like reading Poetry/Hymns you will find faviotires you have been singing without knowing the author, and if you don't and have seen the movie, Amazing Grace or read Bull's book or even have just heard the backstory in passing then you will enjoy the inspirational words on the page.
