“Heat is something I never seem able to escape. It’s not just about climate. Heat comes in many forms and follows me wherever I go, or maybe the truth is that I’m drawn to it like the proverbial moth to a flame. Like in this small town on the east coast of Florida. Nighttime in Port Selerno is as hot as if it were midday. If you frequent some of the places I do, it can get even hotter.”

Peckerwood Twist is a part-suspense, part-fantasy fiction novel that, as author Nathan Lichtwar says, is either 90% true and 10% false or the other way around, and based in part on his own experiences. Sam Paris is the main character, whose stint as a Marine during the Vietnam War was followed by drug addiction, leaving him homeless until he’s picked up in New York City and groomed for a specific purpose by Ursula Jung, a woman who lies about what’s going on as easily as she breathes. After hooking up with Ursula, Sam never knows from one minute to the next who he’s going to be running from, who he’s being set up by or who’s shooting at him, or who he may have to kill to survive. "Peckerwood Twist -- lgk" Mr. Lichtwar kept my head spinning - right to the unexpected end. His Sam Paris has more escapes than Houdini and keeps you guessing as to what will happen next. I wait, with anticipation for the sequel, which I do hope is in the making.
"Peckerwood Twist" I loved this book. Had trouble putting it down. Very swift read, the characters took me on an amazing journey. I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen.... Peckerwood Twist is packed with action, mystery and intrigue. An excellent yarn, and what a surprise on Nathan Lichwar’s first time out.
"Peckerwood Twist" I was fortunate enough to have the author read chapter one to a group of us while in NY one weekend. It was so captivating that I had to buy the book. I look forward to reading it right away. I was really intrigued once I read the other reviews. I'm pleased to hear that there are more epic tales on the way. RAK boater, Maine
