In 2007, a journal was discovered within the charred remains of a rural residential area of an undisclosed location. Officially released by certain agencies, the journal chronicles the events of a lone resident living within his home as it becomes surrounded by the undead.
Due to the numerous petitions and inquiries made by both public and private parties, the journal has been released with the intent of quelling the spread of rumor and any misinformation that may have been conveyed through commercial media and word of mouth.

Do you like zombies? Do you like desperation? Do you like being afraid? Than you will love Nick Berry's book. I absolutely love the horror genre and this book did not dissapoint! If you enjoy suspense, intellectual thrill and the human condition than you will love this book. I read the book in less than 2 days because I simply could not put it down. Be prepared to read this journal with the lights on.
I am a huge fan of this genre and this is my first book that was written as a journal. Amazing! Enhances the experience while reading it. Its a thrill. Will have you reacting to what happens as you read. Each entry is powered on the will to live. Sometimes you begin to question if he can. I am going to recommend it to everyone I know!
I had never been a fan of this type of genre, but this novel has changed my mind. If you are naturally curious, this book is for you. Page one has you hooked into wanting to know more! Berry does not outright tell you what happened or what is going on, getting you hooked and craving to keep turning the pages and reading more. If you are not into the straight horror generic type novels, this one is perfect! The writing style is unique and realistic. You will forget that it is fiction just by the writing style alone and begin to relate with the character. How can I simply sum up this book? The humour, need to know more makes the novel a thrill to read. Once you start to read, you won't want to put it down!
Epidemic Victus Cadaver: A Journal, is a horror novel that acts as a literary documentary as its central character relays to the audience his experience in a post zombie apocalypse world. The novel has many highs and lows, and the author does a really great job capturing the effects of isolation on the main character – leading the reader to ask, will he make it out of this alive? As the novel is written in journal form, the audience has ample opportunity to connect with the main character. The author has left this character unnamed, but after a thorough reading of the book you quickly realize that a name is not needed as “the man” is really an everyman; he is very relatable and demonstrates amplified character growth in his particular situation, with his actions calling into question what the reader would do themselves if faced with a similar situation. The book itself delves right into action, as the journal begins a couple of weeks into the outbreak. The entries mostly revolve... More > around personal musings, ideas for survival, flashbacks, and play-by-play descriptions of the zombie attacks. Although this book is in the horror genre, it still manages to be intelligent and thought provoking, which is a nice change of pace. Since getting this book, I have read it 3 times and each time I pick up something new from it. The plot in general flows very well, and the development of the main character is striking, Nicholas Berry writes internal thought very well, and I found the portrayal of the main characters experiences very believable. I will definitely suggest this novel to all of my zombie loving friends!< Less
