A Hand-coloured etched playing card deck printed in Lubeck, Germany in 1923. There are four suits, birds, smokestacks, icebergs, and thorns. The together they form a continuous panorama. They were printed as a souvenir poker deck for the Iceberg Ball of october 13th 1923 in both German and English editions by the Royal Excavation Corps to commemorate the iceberg city state that beached close to Lubeck during the time of the great inflation. They are extremely rare, there are only 17 handcolored complete decks known, and this is an accurate fascimile of one of the finest.

"Lesen Sie, bitte! Vor es ist zu spät!" No mere game of chance, these cards! Do you dare give them a look and see how we now seem to be playing the same hand dealt the citizens of Eisbergfreistadt and Lübeck circa 1923? It's a great pity that the current eschaton seems far less picturesque than the images shown here.
