I was intrigued by the description of this book, however its contents were way beyond my expectations. There were incredible chapters that kept me entirely captivated like "Cyberflesh and the Digital Parasite." Very well written. There were some really interesting critiques on how technology and cameras, eventually manifest themselves as a new perceptual phenomena. A very smart book, but with intense visuals. This book kept my eyes and my brain guessing the entire time. Ultimately the story-line aspect of the book kept a steady pace throughout, considering the weight of the intellectual content. This one is definetely a keeper!

This is an extremely clever journey into the relationship between light and shadow, and the role architecture plays on balancing the two. Intellectually stimulating and full of poetic black and white photographs that were documented through a variety of self-constructed pinhole cameras. Nicholas Lowe crafts this book as a story that is truly a wellspring of ideas and captivating intellectual inquiries. The book operates between architectural drawings of optical devices and the sometimes vaporous, almost ghostly tones that those devices record. A true refreshing adventure for the avant guarde architect or the artistic intellectual that craves genrous doses of mysterious photography to accompany his cerebral nourishment.
