Broken Women of the Mountains

Broken Women of the Mountains is a poetry collection draped in raw honesty and ache of women of Afghanistan and the tribal areas of Pakistan. Nida Mahmoed elevates the situation and circumstances of women under the Taliban rule in the effected areas through her poetry. This book's paperback edition has been released in 2009 and the eBook is releasing this year (in 2017). The book is divided into two chapters, and each chapter tells an experience of war, oppression and violence against women; who live in the Afghanistan and tribal areas of Pakistan. A story of a young girl, who killed by her father because she demands to go school with her brother; left a strong impact on the poet Nida Mahmoed and she decided to raise a voice against violence and gender equality through her poetry and Broken Women of the Mountains takes readers through a journey of the most outrageous moments of women in the tribal areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
