This is a delightful book beautifully written wrapping a simple story around some profound philosophy. Well worth a second read

I didn't know what to expect starting to read this book, reading the synopsis gave a hint but what was revealed was a mind expanding reality to which I can honestly say has totally altered my perception of life. We have all at one point or another questioned our existence or faultered at the enormity of existence itself. The collection of words upon the pages of this book has taken me through the insightful wisdom I would only hope to achieve after decades of being in a state of living. The book follows Sami a boy who has travelled a different life to mine, with his own individual pains and strifes. Yet when comes in contact with the wind he is completely my replica, asking the same questions as I and seeking the same goals. Although the beginning of the book to me seemed distant and forced, it was to get the reader into a position of understanding with Sami. Once in dialogue with the wind the tale takes hold and will grasp you til the end. The author has not littered the book with... More > superfluous descriptions of surroundings but chosen quite geniously to sprinkle gems of perspective throughout. Setting scenes and emotions of characters deepening the overall tone and furtherering the readers understanding as the story unravels. (A personal favourite "The shadow we call 'night' rolled steadily around the planet, continuously displaced by the light we call 'morning'.") With the insight of Wind and the growth from imaturity of Sami you are taken on a journey some might label as spiritual but I can only describe as fulfilling as it enlightens you beyond yourself. A must read in my eyes as I cannot describe what takes place in my mind while being involved in this respite of life called "Sami and the Wind".< Less
