The Elton Brand Story
Elton Tyron Brand is a shining example of the success of the American Dream. From very humble beginnings in a public housing project, Elton has emerged as the most sought after basketball player in the United States, if not the world.
Born on March 11, 1979 in Peekskill, NY, a quiet city of 20,000 thirty miles north of New York City on the beautiful Hudson River, Elton was raised by his mother, Mrs. Daisy Brand. As a young child he was sent to nearby Ossining, New York, twelve miles away, to live with his grandparents, Clarathea Brand and John Timms Sr.. He was only there for a few years while his mother was concentrating on her older son, Artie, who was Elton's stepbrother.
