Designing in the Context of Urban Heterotopia
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The book explores the condition of urban heterotopia and its implications on the decision-making processes of formulating a building program within a dense urban fabric. The author argues that heterotopia is exacerbated by the multiplicity of users and stakeholders at an urban site and can only be remedied through a transversal participative design process. The outcome of the research resulted in an implementation of the developed programming methods at an urban site in East Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, PA.
