A fractured story told by an unreliable witness - but with a prevailing suspicion that there is a truth to be discerned from the collected fragments..... some of which are lost and some of which are profound, but all of which are relentlesly, 'laugh out loud' funny ! You'll either love it or hate it - never indifferent.
My favourite critique, so far, is - "totally impenetrable, so why am I laughing!". I shall save that for my headstone as a perfect summation of life itself (for me, at least). And probably for this book. As puzzles go, the answer may be as inaccessible as truth itself - unless, of course, you accept that the answer is 'simply' understanding the puzzle, and still finding it amusing. "Fragments from the Lost & profound" ..... a very, very funny book; 'laugh out loud funny'! Always entertaining and very clever, sometimes too clever for its own good but always funny. A very singular but memorable read. one of those 'one-off' books. You will need to read to understand, and then go and bore your friends. I would recommend it to anyone, but perhaps not everyone.
"Fragments from the Lost & Profound" I really love this book and often laughed out loud! If I wasn´t an incredibly busy English teacher with two crazy young sons I would have devoured the book in one sitting. Not only is this book incredibly funny but it is brilliantly written; Thursday presented itself through a fine, insistent drizzle. It insinuated itself into the air and diffused like an enfeebled poison that would take years to do harm..." Enjoy this book, its wonderful!
"FRAGMENTS FROM THE LOST & PROFOUND" Fragments from the Lost and Profound is a superb read. It is interesting, hilarious, sometimes serious but on the whole a remarkable witty book. A true literary Masterpiece you are not likely to forget ! Ronald Burgess
