At Play 2012 brings together artists, making participatory work in a variety of art forms. Inspired by the Olympics coming to Britain, it considers ideas about the structure of play, exploring the way that play can be spontaneous or bound by rules and conventions. The viewer is invited to gaze, remember, touch, explore, trust, laugh... and play. It encourages the viewer to feel like a child again.
The exhibitions take place in three venues, South Hill Park, 21 April–17 June, New Ashgate Gallery, 8 June–14 July and OVADA, 29 June–5 August 2012, presenting work by AM Bruno; Leszek Blyszczynski; Andi Chapple; James R Ford; Linda Francis; Flora Gare; Nick Kennedy; Philip Lee; Dan Lovelace; Sousan Luqman; Este MacLeod; Nyeema Morgan; Martina O’Shea; Katherina Radeva; Ann Rapstoff; Kirsty E Smith; Jane Tadrist; Guy Tarrant; Cally Trench; Kim Walker and Mary Yacoob.
