An excellent testament of a man's journey of faith, and how it was greatly strengthened by special gifts and graces from Heaven. Pádraig Caughey shares his account with the world in this short but sweet book of how he verged on the brink of death and numerous assassination attempts during the Northern Ireland troubles in the 1970s and 1980s. Coming from a steadfast Catholic home, his faith was all but destroyed by the scourge of bitter warfare. Racked with hatred and bitterness from what his family were suffering, it was only until the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to him in prison that he began to turn his life around. Pádraig also shares with the reader his great knowledge on prayer, especially contemplative prayer. Overall an excellent read, recommended to all, and for those currently beginning their journey of faith in Christ, this book is sure to be a little gem.

"Please read this book!" In the typical ways of an Irish seanachie(storyteller), Padraig has written a very moving and profound book which details his prayer life from one who doubts to one who is so in love with Jesus and His Mother. You can almost see the twinkle in his eye as he weaves his incredible true story that brings yelps of glee and tears of emotion to the reader. I can't help but to repeat: please read this book!

"Re: Dissappointing fiction " D Vinci, you should have read this book before you attempted to rubbish it. This book is primarily about the struggle of one man and his relationship with God. The word IRA is used merely to help illustrate the setting in which this story takes place. This account does not delve far into the activity of the Provisional IRA. Why challenge it?
