The District

ByPamela Forest

The government has set up a fence around Washington, DC after a biological weapon detonates in the Nation's Capital. From the refugee camp just outside the fence, Kate watches the infecteds walk toward the gate before being gunned down by the soldiers patrolling the fence. She watches the other side of the fence because her daughter is in there, somewhere, and she's going to find a way in to rescue her. Autumn hadn't seen another boat for weeks, but she still held out hope that someone would find her and her friends drifting through the Atlantic Ocean. But with supplies running low, Autumn has to decide if they risk running out of water or try to resupply in the outskirts of DC. A few chance sightings and a freak storm lead Autumn and her friends to believe that there is more left in DC than they thought.
